Over 23 years, I have moved from front-line and team management roles into broader operational and executive leadership. The environments have differed, but the work has often involved the same challenge: bringing structure to complexity without losing sight of the people affected by it.
I have led geographically spread teams, worked with independent businesses and partner networks, carried P&L and budget responsibility, introduced operational controls, overseen regulated activities and led large digital transitions.
My experience brings these areas together and requires a view across the organisation rather than one function at a time. Strategy, operations, finance, compliance, commercial performance, stakeholder relationships, service standards and people performance all affect one another. The work is to keep those parts connected and moving in the same direction.
The writing on this site follows the same principle. It aims to be direct, useful and grounded in the realities of leadership, people and execution.
