Privacy Policy

Last updated: 19 June 2026

This policy explains how personal information is handled on this website.

Who operates this site

This website is published by Henk Ferreira in a personal capacity. The content reflects personal views and does not represent any employer, partner, client, association or organisation.

Personal information collected

The newsletter and calculator-access forms collect your email address. The contact form asks for your name, email address and message. The site does not request identity numbers, payment details or special personal information.

Vercel may process limited technical request information, such as an IP address, browser details and security logs, when it hosts and protects the site.

How information is used

Personal information is used to manage newsletter subscriptions, provide access to the requested tools, respond to enquiries, protect forms from abuse and maintain the security and operation of the site.

Consent and POPIA basis for processing

Newsletter, resource-access and contact information is processed with your consent when you complete the relevant consent control and submit the form. Limited technical information may be processed for the legitimate purpose of hosting, securing and maintaining the site.

You may withdraw consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter or contacting henk.ferreira83@gmail.com.

Newsletter and resource downloads

Subscribing to the newsletter or unlocking the dealer-stock tools adds your email address to the Buttondown mailing list. Buttondown manages the confirmation process and newsletter delivery. You can unsubscribe using the link in every email or by contacting henk.ferreira83@gmail.com.

The resource form states clearly that submitting an email address both unlocks the tools and subscribes the address to email updates.

Contact form

The current production site does not have a third-party contact-email delivery provider configured. The form may prepare a message for you to send using your own email application or copy the draft in your browser. The website does not store contact messages in a database.

Cookies, browser storage and analytics

The site does not currently use third-party analytics, advertising cookies, remarketing pixels or behavioural profiling tools.

It uses local browser storage to remember whether the dealer-stock calculators have been unlocked on a device. That stored value does not contain your email address and is not sent back as an analytics record.

Third-party service providers

Vercel provides website hosting, delivery and security. Buttondown manages newsletter subscriber email addresses, confirmation and delivery. These providers process limited information only as needed to provide their services and under their own privacy terms.

Plausible analytics and Resend contact-email delivery are not currently active on the production site. This policy must be updated before any additional analytics or contact-delivery provider is enabled.

Cross-border processing

Vercel and Buttondown operate internationally, so limited personal information may be stored or processed outside South Africa. Reasonable steps are taken to use established providers with contractual, privacy and security safeguards appropriate to the services they provide.

Security safeguards

Reasonable technical and organisational safeguards are used to reduce the risk of loss, misuse, unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration or destruction. These include HTTPS, limited data collection, form validation, rate limiting and restricted provider credentials.

No website, cloud service or email system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Retention

Newsletter subscriber information is retained by Buttondown while you remain subscribed and is removed or suppressed when you unsubscribe or request deletion, subject to limited records needed to honour that request.

The website does not maintain a database of contact messages. Correspondence that you choose to send by email may be retained for up to 24 months after the related conversation concludes, unless a longer period is required for a legitimate or legal reason.

The calculator-access value remains in local browser storage until you clear the site data in your browser.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA), you may request access to personal information, ask for inaccurate information to be corrected, request deletion where applicable, object to processing and withdraw consent.

To exercise a right, use the contact page or email henk.ferreira83@gmail.com. A response will be provided within a reasonable period and normally within 30 days.

External links

This site links to external sources such as regulators, research organisations and industry bodies. Their privacy practices and technologies are governed by their own policies.

Regulator

You may lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator South Africa if you believe your personal information has been processed unlawfully.
